Tofnux XR Tablet is primarily used to manage moderate to severe rheumatoid arthritis, an inflammatory condition affecting the joints. This medicine belongs to a class of medications known as Janus kinase inhibitors.
Tofnux XR Tablet is indicated for:
• Management of rheumatoid arthritis
• Management of psoriatic arthritis
• Management of ankylosing spondylitis
• Management of ulcerative colitis
• Take Tofnux XR Tablet whole with a glass of water.
• Do not chew or crush the tablet.
• The tablet can be taken with or without food.
• Consistent daily intake at the same time is recommended.
• Do not exceed the recommended dose unless advised by your doctor.
Tofnux XR Tablet is taken orally.
The side effects of Tofnux XR Tablet may include:
• Headache
• Diarrhoea
• Upper respiratory tract infection
• Nasopharyngitis (common cold with throat and nasal passage inflammation)
Tofnux XR Tablet contains tofacitinib (11 mg), which acts by:
• Inhibiting Janus Kinases: Tofacitinib blocks the activity of enzymes known as Janus kinases, which are integral to the signalling pathways that drive inflammation and immune system activity.
• Reducing Immune System Activity: By inhibiting Janus kinases, tofacitinib effectively reduces immune system activity, thus lowering inflammation associated with rheumatoid arthritis and other inflammatory conditions.

Missed Dose
