Torsedil Plus 10 Tablet is primarily used to manage fluid retention, or oedema, associated with conditions such as congestive heart failure, liver cirrhosis, and kidney diseases. It belongs to the class of medicines known as diuretics.
Torsedil Plus 10 Tablet is prescribed for:
• Managing fluid retention related to congestive heart failure
• Controlling water accumulation due to liver cirrhosis
• Addressing fluid build-up linked to nephrotic syndrome
• Reducing oedema associated with chronic kidney disease
• Regulating high blood pressure (hypertension)
• Addressing primary hyperaldosteronism, a condition causing excessive aldosterone production
• Swallow the tablet whole with a glass of water.
• Do not crush or chew the tablet.
• Take the medicine in the morning to avoid frequent urination at night.
• Do not exceed the prescribed dosage without consulting your doctor.
• Do not discontinue use without consulting your doctor.

The side effects of Torsedil Plus 10 Tablet may include:
• Gastrointestinal disturbances
• Dizziness

Torsedil Plus 10 Tablet comprises two active ingredients:
• Spironolactone (50 mg): As a potassium-sparing diuretic, spironolactone antagonises aldosterone, a hormone that promotes sodium retention and potassium excretion in the kidneys. By blocking aldosterone, spironolactone enhances sodium and water excretion while conserving potassium.
• Torsemide (10 mg): Part of the loop diuretics category, torsemide inhibits the reabsorption of sodium and chloride in the ascending loop of Henle and the distal renal tubule in the kidneys. This leads to increased excretion of water, sodium, chloride, magnesium, and calcium, effectively reducing fluid retention.

Avoid alcohol as it may increase the risk of dizziness and confusion.
Patients with mild to moderate liver impairment should take this tablet cautiously. It is not recommended in patients with severe liver issues.

This medicine may cause dizziness or fatigue. Avoid driving or operating heavy machinery if affected.
Do not take Torsedil Plus 10 Tablet if you are allergic to spironolactone, torsemide, or any of its components.

Use under medical supervision due to increased susceptibility to side effects; caution is advised for individuals over 70 years of age.
Drug-Drug Interactions
• Antihypertensives: Combining with Torsedil Plus 10 Tablet may increase the risk of high potassium levels in the blood.
• Non-Steroidal Anti-Inflammatory Drugs (NSAIDs): These may reduce the diuretic and blood pressure-lowering effects of Torsedil Plus 10 Tablet.
• Heart medications: May increase the medication levels, leading to toxicity.
• Mood stabalizers: May increase lithium levels, causing toxicity.

• Addison's Disease: Avoid use due to potential health risks.
Daily Dose
• Take Torsedil Plus 10 Tablet as advised by your doctor. The dosage may change based on individual factors such as the severity of the condition and response to treatment. It is important to follow the prescribed dosage and not exceed it without consulting your doctor.
Missed Dose
• If you miss a dose, take it as soon as you remember.
• If it is close to the next dose, skip the missed one and continue as normal.
• Do not double the dose.
Overdose
• Overdose symptoms may include dizziness and nausea. Seek immediate medical attention if an overdose is suspected.
• Store at room temperature, not exceeding 30°C.
• Keep in a dry place, protected from light and moisture.
• Keep out of reach of children.
• Use before the expiry date printed on the pack.
• Reduce salt intake to help manage high blood pressure and oedema.
