Valprat Chrono 500 Tablet may have the following common side effects:

Valprat Chrono 500 Tablet contains sodium valproate/valproic acid (500 mg), which acts in the body as follows:
• Increasing GABA Levels: Sodium valproate/valproic acid enhances the concentration of gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA), an inhibitory neurotransmitter, thereby reducing neuronal excitability in the brain.
• Reducing Neuronal Excitation: It suppresses the excessive firing of neurons, thereby controlling seizure activity.
• Modulating Channel Activity: This medicine modulates the activity of voltage-gated sodium channels and T-type calcium channels, contributing to its therapeutic effects.
• Enhancing GABA Synthesis: By inhibiting the catabolism of GABA, it ensures a stable presence of this neurotransmitter in the brain.
This tablet is not recommended during pregnancy, particularly in the first trimester, due to the risk of birth defects.
The content of this medication is excreted in breast milk and can cause sedation, irritability, poor feeding, and other issues in infants.
Avoid alcohol as it may exacerbate side effects such as drowsiness and liver damage.
Not recommended for liver patients.
